GET INVOLVED
One of the biggest housing crises in the country is in our backyard. We partner with LifeMoves Shelters, an organization that provides homeless individuals in the Bay Area with temporary housing and comprehensive case management to support their essential needs. We conduct programming with families, parents, and adolescents to help them develop health efficacy skills, connect them with healthcare resources, and learn about essential health topics.
Samaritan House Free Clinic serves uninsured individuals in the Bay free of charge. The clinic serves a largely migrant population and experiences a lot of stigma, specifically around reproductive health topics. We partner with the Women’s Health Clinic to conduct mini health education sessions for patients, ranging on topics from menstrual health to contraception to breast health.
- Make infographics on health stigma
- Create resource guides and referral plans to connect people to specialty care
- Create videos to explain health concepts
If you’re not able to consistently volunteer, you can volunteer with many of our outreach sites, doing product distribution, such as with the Stanford Homelessness Outreach Program (created by Stanford MD Students!).
